Inauguration

Women Development Cell was inaugurated on 17th Sept, 2011 by Prof Vinita Chitale from Institute of Psychological Health-Thane. She conducted interactive session on the concepts of  gender issues and equality in society. In second session DVDs related to gender issues were shown to the audience.

 

Career Opportunities

Successive program being organized was “Career Opportunities for Women in Hospitality Industry” on 19th November, 2011 . Prof Conrad D’souza from Ramanath Payyade College of Hospitality Management Studies was guest lecturer. He addressed the girl students about various types of career opportunities a student can seek after completing the graduate or post graduate level courses.

 

Sexual Harassment” and “Save the girl child

WDC organized this program on 1st September, 2012. The program was based on the concept of ‘sexual harassment and ‘save the girl child’. The chief guests of the program were Dr Kranti Jejurkar, Chairperson, UWDC and Dr Madhavi Pethe,   Principal N M Dahanukar College, Vileparle

 

Self Defense Techniques

WDC had organized a program on “Self Defense Techniques” on 5th January, 2013. Maharashtra Police-Chunabhatti Police Station was co-organizers of the same. Mr Mahesh Navale and his Karate group demonstrated various self defense techniques to the girl students. Girl students were encouraged to learn techniques systematically and were given practical knowledge. College girls took active part in it. They were also keen to know about overcoming practical difficulties. While addressing the girl students ACP Mr. Bhise said, “Girls must learn self defense techniques for their safety purpose. They must be very careful when they are travelling or in the public places. Men and women both have equal status in the society and we need to show respect to each other.”


International Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, WDC (Women Development Cell) of Bunts Sangha’s colleges had organized a program and celebrated the day in a very exclusive way on 8th March, 2013. It was a unique idea and everyone’s participation made it a group activity relating to significance of the International Women’s Day.

 

INTERNATIONAL Women’s day.“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me:I am a free human being with an independent will.” ― Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre The Women Development cell (WDC), of Bunts Sangha’s Anna Leela College of Commerce and Economics, successfully celebrated International Women’s Day on 8/3/2014 by having following events 

 

1. Talk on health issues of girl child for the age group 18- 23 was delivered by our guest speaker Dr. Dilkush. Khubchandani, a Gynecologist having 45 years of practice. She enriched the girl students by making them aware of the female centric health issues.

 

2. Cloth posters were on display at the college premises where students especially girls and faculty were encouraged to express their views and opinions of young generation and making awareness about women empowerment. The basic objective was to ignite the positive attitude.

 

3. Power point presentation on “Women can be a good Leader” was running continuously in the campus depicting the success stories of women.

Women Development Cell

The College Women’s Development Cell was set up in academic year 2010-11 according to the guidelines of Mumbai University. Primary purpose of the set up is to create awareness among women about their ‘Self’, to sensitize them about gender equality, to protect the women from sexual harassment and to create a hassle free atmosphere at work place.
