“NEWS THAT CAN BE USED”
“NEWS THAT CAN BE USED” It is an innovative segment, got recently added and initiated through BAF department to inculcate and imbibe the habit of reading the news papers on daily basis by the students so, that students should get well- versed with the current and recent developments related to laws, rules and regulations, pertaining to Corporate Governance, Companies Amendments’ Act, 2013, CSR Policies of Govt, SEBI, RBI, Corporate Laws and various other current updates in the dynamic sector, such as Finance Market.

“Business Day”:
Bachelor of Accounting & Finance Department Initiative

The Department of Bachelor of Accounting and Finance inaugurated a new event known as, “Business Day” aimed at bringing in a pragmatic approach of education on 9th July 2013. This event was a special initiative of the Department Faculty, designed to teach students skills of conducting and managing businesses. Various Stalls were put up in college premises selling products, ranging from fast food to jewelry and even mobile accessories. In fact, this was a learning experience for the students as they learnt the practical challenges of the business.
This event was conducted from morning 8am to 1.30 p.m. Eight stalls were installed by BAF students.Student had prepared financial statement i.e., Profit & Loss Account & Balance Sheet of each stall .These statements explains, how much profit, they had earned or they incurred the losses.This was a good learning experience for them.


Poster-Making Competition

It was a nice effort to inculcate and imbibe the skill of learning through art for our BAF students.All students made various posters, depicting the changes in finance sector.
The main theme of conducting and organising such kind of event was to sensitise the students and make them aware of the functioning of share-market, SEBI, role of RBI, finance-position of Indian market, Role of BSE and other related aspects of finance.
The “QUEST to Learn and the ZEST to Draw” was very much evidentiary, as all the participants had tried to portray, almost the every area and segment of finance sector of India and world-wide scenario of economy.Last but not the least, it was a very good articulation of the process of learning through art which in real terms, got revelled by the students of BAF!

DISASTER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
21st August & 22nd August
Bunts Sangha, Mumbai conducted a Disaster Management Program, seeking the co-operation of BMC officials Mumbai taking into consideration the need to enlighten the students over the various means to equip themselves at times of Disaster. The program, headed under the Co - ordination of Prof. Anchal Jain and her colleagues, Prof.Suzen Alex mam, Prof. Udita Jain, Prof. Chirag Warty sir and Prof. Reshma Yadav, along the team of volunteers for the same. The first day Program (i.e. 21st of August) was conducted by Chief BMC official Mr. Lokhande. The programme was started at 12 noon on the fourth floor of the college in room no. 407. He addressed the students over what exactly a disaster is and also as to how to act in times of a Disaster. Mr. Lokhande, the head chief of the Disaster Management (BMC-L WARD), talked to students over the recent Disasters in Mumbai and also regarding the reasons for those disasters. He later opened his Power point presentation and equipped the students with the knowledge that one needs to have about any type of disaster. He also informed the students’ relation to a few things that a common man does wrong in times of disaster. The batch had a healthy discussion with Mr. Lokhande. The day concluded with him teaching the students so, as to how to operate an Fire extinguisher. A live demo was performed over it in the college Basement. All about more than 160 students had actively participated in the event and the certification had been issued to the participants by BMC.
The next day started with Mr. Lokhande and his colleague Mr. Pravin, addressing the students. The enthusiasm of the students motivated them further. Several rope techniques were taught to the students. The second day of the event witnessed the presence of our Honorable Principal Dr. K S Cheema, Mr. Krishna Shetty (Founder and Director of UKS), MR. Chetan Patil (chief co-ordinator of MTC) and other respectable staff of the College. The day ended with a speech of every dignitary present and also by the felicitation of the BMC Officials by the hands of S.Y.B.Com. students.The officials left the place with a hope of receiving co operation from the trained students at times of any unforeseen future disaster.


REPORT ON ONAM FESTIVAL
16th September, 2013
Goal – ‘Onam’ is a time to honor our vast cultural heritage and rich variety for all the Keralites who celebrate it with much vigor than any other festival. The main purpose of celebrating the festival was to make the students from all the communities to understand the various facets of keralite and Malyali culture.To reciprocate the same, Bunt Sangha College of Commerce also celebrated “Onam Celebrations day on 16th September, 2013 with great enthusiasm and zest.The event was attended by all the batches of Degree College of Anna Leela, including all the college students of Commerce (I.T., BAF, BMS, BMM, and B.COM.) and all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college.
Event: - This cultural celebration got started after the inauguration at 11.40 am, after in lighting the lamp through the hands of our Principal Dr.K.S.Cheema.The main attraction of the Onam celebrations was the “Rangoli of flowers”, made by the Students of all stream which reflects our country’s unity in diversity. All the students, irrespective of their caste, creed or religion, took the initiative and participated with the great zeal and passion by extending their supportive hands and harmony through helping their Keralite friends in arranging all the events, say from raising funds, making rangoli, organizing from the scratch, till the final conceptualization of the celebration.On concluding the report, it’s pleased to announce the celebration went as per the schedule and all the teaching and non-teaching staff of Bunt-Sangha, made it successful by their presence and participation.We express our praise and gratitude to the Almighty for his blessings which guided us in the successful coordination of the event.(Department of BAF).
