Anna Leela College of Commerce & Economics and Shobha Jayaram Shetty College for BMS had organized seminar on Social awareness about Cyber Forensics and Cyber Crime/ Law. The whole idea of organizing this seminar was to create awareness in our students the importance of knowing what is a Cyber crime and how to avoid from falling victim to it. This was held on 30th January, 2014 at Bunts Sangha’s Higher Education Complex, Buntara Bhavana Marg, Kurla (E), Mumbai-400070.Mr. Vinay of Vioal E-Learning Pvt. Ltd.. The speaker spoke about the Cyber Crimes happening since invention of computer and internet connection happen. He also spoke about the different estimations of the Cyber Crimes that happens on yearly basis as in 55.6 Crore people fall victim to Cyber Crimes every year, 63% of female are Cyber Crime victims. Speaker also spoke about the courses they offer in their institution
which are all the certified courses like a Certified Course in Network Beginners, Security Elite +, Ethical Hacking Expert, Cyber Crime Investigators, Search Engine Optimizer.Speaker spoke about the surveys done by the following media’s like Times of India had two surveys of the online shopping and total number of Internet users in the year 2013 which stated as 57% of shoppers check prices online before shopping and India has the 3rd largest Internet user also another media TRAK.IN survey states that 3 of every 5 Indian Internet users shops online. The Speaker also spoke about the 16 year old lad who earns Rs. 4 Crores per annum as a certified hacker. He also spoke about the Cyber Crime cases that have happened in the past and also gave the outcomes and the steps taken by the Police and the Government. They also gave the demonstration about the Email Hacking, Mobile Hacking, and System Hacking. Finally, the seminar came to a close end, the speaker Mr. Vinay encouraged the students to attempt for joining the course regarding the certified courses.
